INSTALLATION (4 steps -- please follow in order)
------------------------------------------------

1. Open the downloaded ZIP file (Finder unzips it automatically).
   You will see a "BillKaro" folder containing:
      BillKaro.app
      README-macOS.txt    (this file)
      LICENSE.txt
      Remove-Quarantine.command

2. (RECOMMENDED) Drag  BillKaro.app  to your /Applications folder.
   You can run it from any location, but /Applications gives you
   a Launchpad icon and standard macOS behavior.

3. macOS quarantines any app downloaded from the internet. The
   FIRST time you run BillKaro you will see:

      "BillKaro.app cannot be opened because Apple cannot
       check it for malicious software."

   Choose ONE of the following options to get past this:

   Option A -- Right-click open (one-time, easy):
      a. RIGHT-CLICK (or Control+click) on BillKaro.app
      b. Choose "Open" from the menu
      c. Click "Open" in the security dialog
      BillKaro will launch and remember your approval.

   Option B -- Remove the quarantine flag (one click, faster):
      a. Double-click  Remove-Quarantine.command  (in this folder)
      b. A Terminal window opens, removes the quarantine, and
         tells you to press Enter to close.
      c. BillKaro.app can now be opened by normal double-click.

   Option C -- via System Settings:
      a. Try to open BillKaro.app (it will be blocked).
      b. Open System Settings -> Privacy & Security.
      c. Scroll down -- you will see:
         "BillKaro.app was blocked from use because it is not
          from an identified developer."
         Click  "Open Anyway".

4. On the very first launch, BillKaro will show you the
   End-User License Agreement and ask for your consent to each
   optional data-sharing feature. Read it and choose what you
   want to allow.


FIRST-RUN LOGIN
---------------

   Username:  admin
   Password:  admin123

Please change this password immediately from
   Admin Panel  ->  Users
after first login.


WHERE IS MY DATA STORED?
------------------------

BillKaro stores ALL your business data (database, config,
logs) here:

   ~/Library/Application Support/BillKaro/

This is your user home, not inside the .app bundle. This means:

   * You can move BillKaro.app anywhere; your data follows your
     macOS user account, not the app.
   * Removing the .app does NOT delete your business data.
   * Backups should target ~/Library/Application Support/BillKaro/billkaro.db
     (or use Admin -> Backup -> Export Database from inside the app).


UPGRADING TO A NEW VERSION
--------------------------

1. Close BillKaro.
2. Make a quick backup of  ~/Library/Application Support/BillKaro/billkaro.db
   (just in case).
3. Drag the new BillKaro.app from the new ZIP over the old one
   in /Applications -- Finder will ask to replace.
4. Re-launch -- your data is preserved.


UNINSTALLING
------------

1. Drag  BillKaro.app  from /Applications to the Trash.
2. (Optional, deletes ALL your data) Delete the folder
      ~/Library/Application Support/BillKaro/


WHY A PORTABLE BUILD INSTEAD OF A .DMG INSTALLER?
-------------------------------------------------

Recent macOS releases (Gatekeeper) block unsigned .dmg/.pkg
installers more aggressively than .app bundles inside a .zip.
A signed/notarized installer is on our roadmap.
